400+ warriors hitting the turf for fun mud obstacle course in the heart of Connemara

Mud, turf, nets and swings – are all part of the winning combination of Turf Warrior in partnership with John West, taking place on November 2nd. This year marks the 10th year of hundreds of people heading into the muck to return as true (Turf) Warriors.

The 8km course is set in wild bog land and peppered with over 20 mostly natural obstacles. This challenge not only feeds your inner child but also your eyes. The setting of the Killary Fjord in the heart of Connemara is truly stunning.

In 2019 Gaelforce are introducing a few new twists and turns to the course alongside some well-known obstacles which were featured on Irelands Fittest Family multiple times over the years.

Shane Young, organiser says “It’s a real chance to go wild, get mucky and have fun – definitely leave your white sneakers at home for this one!”

The main focus of the event is camaraderie and fun, making it a great event for team building, fundraising, end or year party or club outing. The course is suitable for all levels of fitness.

A hot bowl of soup and homemade bread will be waiting for each participant on the finish line plus a cold beer and a variety of protein snacks from John West Ireland.

In 2019 Gaelforce has teamed up with Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health as their charity partner. As part of the partnership participants can donate when registering for the event or become an Everyday Jigsaw Hero and raise vital funds for the charity.
