High Powered Electricty Link To Connemara Kicked Back To December

An Bord Pleanála has put back the decision on the proposed high powered electricity link to Connemara again.  This is the second time that the decision has been delayed following the Public Hearing in Maam Cross in late April this year.

A spokesman for an Bord Pleanála said that the inspectors report had not yet been completed and that it would have to come before the full board of Bord Pleanála at a later stage.  It is widely accepted that the power supply to Connemara is weak and that it could cause serious problems at any time.
